Nicole Stevenson: "Is it good to be back
swimming 400im?"
Matt: "It is actually. I'm very rejuvenated
as I said this morning with my swimming at the moment. My speed
in the freestyle isn't quite there, but I've got a week until the
world short course, and hopefully I can pick it up there."

Nicole Stevenson: "Well Mr Dunn, Mr Dunn. Jani Sivenen put
out the call in Hobart, and you've come out in the 200im. How
good was it to have a victory is this pool against such a class
field?"
Matt: "It's always great to notch up a
victory. It's a fantastic opportunity to race the likes of Mr
Sievenen and Mr Myden."

Darryl Sommers: "They must have been so proud of you at
the short course championships when you came home in record time
in that medley."
Matt: "Yeah, they were absolutely rapt,
and I suppose good payment for them. All their support over the
years has been fantastic."
Darryl: "I mentioned that mystery medley before, and that's
your event isn't it?"
Matt: "Yeah, it certainly is. The mystery
medley consists of a totally changed order, so I'll actually be
starting with butterfly, breaststroke, freestyle and backstroke
I think. I'll have to look at that one more time. But everyone's
swimming different strokes at different times, so I'll be going
out hard and see what I've got coming home."

Duncan Armstrong: "What are you doing? Move boy"
Matt: "Yeah, they always say that. Or
'kick your legs'. I lost a bit of rhythm at the start of the race.
I got it back in the end. I'm pretty happy with that."

Nicole Stevenson: "4:06.05 is a pretty respectable time."
Matt: "Yeah it is, I think it's the 3rd
fastest time I've ever done, so I'm just rapt with that. I actually
thought I went out a bit fast, but I think the other guys went
out too slow"

Duncan Armstrong: "How much did it mean to you to get the
double as well?"
Matt: "It's something that I don't really
think about before the race, but obviously it's a great thrill.
I don't think too many people have done that considering there's
only been 4. It's fantastic."
Duncan: "Well, well done mate, congratulations from all the
connections in the family home."
Matt: "Yeah, Hi everyone."

Matt: "I just can't believe that time.
I just went in and swam my own race. Gennadi said swim it as a
150 and whatever you've got left, make it home."
Nicole Stevenson: "Gennadi's been a great influence on your
career over the years. This success is mainly due to him and your
own hard work"
Matt: "Yeah absolutely. Everything's been
going just great. All the decisions I've made have come off really
nice. Like the world record the other night. That just tops it
off. I can't believe it."

"With a very tired Matthew Dunn. That stung a bit did it
mate?"
Matt: "Yeah it did. I just used the excitement of the crowd
in the first hundred, and the excitement was there"

"Doesn't matter what order you swim it in"
Matt: "I just have to remember what the
order is, that's the only problem. It was a good time for the
amount of training I've done the last couple of weeks."
"In some ways, you guys have got it easy because apart from
mixing up the order of the strokes, at least you guys don't have
to sprint, take a rest, sprint take a rest."
Matt: "Yeah, I agree totally. I think
the 400 guys have got the tough job later tonight."
